RELIEF
A Mindful Pause
Designing mental clarity in a fast-moving world
BRIEF
Progettazione APP
Relief is a mobile app concept designed to help people train the mind toward a healthier, calmer, and more balanced life.
The goal was to create a digital space for mental clarity—something that could be used anywhere, anytime, especially in moments of overwhelm or stress.
The app teaches simple relaxation techniques aimed at relieving symptoms of anxiety, improving sleep quality, and supporting people through emotional difficulty. It's not about transforming your lifestyle overnight—it’s about making mental wellness feel accessible, personal, and sustainable.
Born from the desire to respond to real-life needs, Relief focuses on designing with empathy: giving users a moment of quiet, without asking too much of them.
PROBLEM SPACE
Why most wellness apps don’t actually work
Most wellness apps are packed with features, long-term plans, and paywalls. While that may work for enthusiasts, many users—especially adults under pressure—feel overwhelmed by choice or blocked by subscriptions.
Through user research and competitor analysis, I found that many users were looking for:
A simpler interface
A way to track emotional progress
Quick exercises that fit into their day
A more empathetic tone, not clinical or commercial
UNIQUE VALUE PROPOSITION
A fast, gentle, and human-first alternative
At the core of the design process was the creation of a clear and human-centered Unique Value Proposition (UVP).
Relief offers a distinct value in the wellness app market by being:
Fast — No time-consuming onboarding or overwhelming paths
Empathetic — Designed with sensitivity to emotional states, not performance metrics
Frictionless — No paywalls, no overcomplication—just what you need, when you need it
Unlike many mental health apps that focus on habit-building and long-term plans, Relief is built for the present moment—for people who need immediate support, not an additional task on their to-do list.
